If you’re in the market for a new bronzer or face powder, look no further. Physicians Formula is renowned for its powdered formulations and after trying the Magic Mosaic Multi-coloured Custom Bronzer (what a mouthful!), I can see why.
The brand has been around for quite some time and has a large and loyal following in countries like the US and UK. You’ve probably seen it in some of the local glossy mags recently as well with its pretty packaging. When I first opened it, my sister was around and at first she was a little confused by it. “I don’t get it,” she said as she peered into the compact. “What’s the point of all the different colours?”
Now, the thing you need to realise about Physician’Formula is that they cater for everyone. The Multi-coloured Custom Bronzer can be used by anyone at any time, depending on your skin tone and what you’re looking to achieve. The colours in the compact (I tried Warm Beige / Light Bronzer) range from dark bronze to a light finish. Using the darker shades on a light skin tone will give you a bronzing effect while the lighter shades work well as a finishing powder. If you have a darker skin tone, the bronzers can almost be used as a rouge or blusher while the lighter tones are ideal as highlighters.
I also love that the compact has a mirror and brush and although I usually chuck out make-up brushes that come with products (I prefer to invest in my own), the brush that comes with this product works really well. It’s a perfect product to keep in your make-up bag for touch ups throughout the day and with the different colours can double up as an emergency make-up palette.
The product itself lasts longer than you’d expect and doesn’t leave that tell-tale cake-y look. The powder blends in really well with any foundation so you can also use it to set your make-up look. The colours also help even out skin tone and because it’s customisable, you can use one product in winter and summer.
